Beau Claiborne

I am a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, father to 3 girls and a firefighter with the City of Boston. I stumbled upon CrossFit during the summer of 2008 after years of traditional gym training – with minimum results. I’ve been active my whole life, playing basketball and football in high school (Don Bosco, RIP) and football collegiately. Entering my 40s, I am easily the healthiest I’ve ever been. My passion is sharing what has so dramatically changed my life.

Prior to finding CrossFit you could find me running races from 5K to Marathons. I can honestly say that I never made it an entire running season without a knee, or hip issue. Was I over training? Absolutely not, rather it was quite the opposite. Thankfully in February of 2010, I finally gave CrossFit a try, and I’ve never looked back. Never in my life has my training been more consistent with gains being made daily. The passion that CrossFit has brought into my life in regards to functional fitness, and nutrition is something that I am equally passionate about sharing. I was born in Marlboro, MA but now reside in Boston where I am a Boston firefighter. I live with my wife Krissy, and my twin daughters Emily and Kaelie.

I found Crossfit in February 2011. After my first workout I was hooked. Prior to Crossfit I was doing your typical body building routine with minimal results. I can honestly say adopting the Crossfit lifestyle and changes in nutrition, was one of the best decisions I ever made, as it has helped me get in the best shape of my life. My passion is to share what helped me achieve my past goals and to continue to assist others as well as myself, achieve future goals. When I am not coaching, you can find me at the Olde Colonial Café, where I am a cook at the best restaurant in Norwood, cooking up Paleo friendly items.

I was introduced to Crossfit in late 2008. Since then Crossfit has not only changed the way I workout but also my perception of what fitness really means. Before Crossfit I was an avid hockey player and occasional 5K , 10K runner. I can honestly say that since I have been Crossfitting I have never been stronger physically or mentally. When I am not training or coaching at CFF I am aLieutenant on the Boston Fire Department, husband to wife Tracie and father of two beautiful children Cassidy and Camden. For me, there is no greater reward than helping and seeing ordinary people in the gym accomplish above average goals that they thought to be impossible. I look forward to sharing my passion for this sport with as many people at CFF as I can.

I grew up in Newton, MA relatively athletic most of my life, working out and playing assorted sports throughout high school and college. I never really found the ultimate results or community I was looking for until I discovered CrossFit in 2009. I will be the first one to admit that results aren’t always easy nor occur overnight but believe full heartily progressions come through sheer commitment and perseverance. I embrace high standards for myself and hold the same for others always ensuring all movements are executed properly and safely. I look forward to helping anybody achieve their goals and doing whatever I can to assist in their journey of life betterment. I now live in Boston with my fiancé Kevin who shares the same love of fitness and life with me.

I am a 12 year yoga practitioner of many different styles of yoga (for both adults and children). Sometimes when I tell people that I’m into CrossFit, I get a skeptical look, as though these were two paths that should never cross. I think they’re more like tributaries toward success. Since being hooked by CrossFit’s awesomeness a few years ago, I have become stronger mentally and physically, and am always looking for ways to improve. I love CrossFit because it prepares you for anything. It’s not just fitness, it’s a community. The people in our affiliate have become family and it makes training fun!
I am also a mother of twin girls who keep me very active. Coaching the CrossFit kids program is so important because it teaches kids how to take care of themselves – now and in the future.
